Day 1: BANGKOK–NAN

08:00            Pick up passengers from major Bangkok hotels and transfer to Don Muang Airport.

10:25            Depart Bangkok by FD3554 (Air Asia/air ticket is not included).

11:30            Arrival at Nan Airport, meet and greet by our guide and drive to a local restaurant for lunch.

13:00            Start exploring Nan by a visit to Nan National Museum. The museum displays exhibitions concerning the city’s history and major structures, evolution of arts in different ages, numerous ancient objects and the most eminent of which is  a magnificent black ivory tusk which was originally supposed to have been offered 300 years ago to a Nan king.

Continue visit Wat Phumin which is famous for its ancient mural wall paintings called Pu Man-Ya Man, in Thai Lu style. They are considered highly valuable and depict legends concerning the Lord Buddha as well as local legends and the local way of life.  Also, visit a nearby Wat Chang Kham Woravihan. The chedi inside the temple reflects the influence of Sukhothai arts. The main vihan enshrines an elegantly beautiful ancient Buddha image representing Chiang Saen style of art and skills of Nan craftsmanship.  Return to the city, stop at Wat Pratardnoi, located on top of the hill offering the best viewpoint that you can see Nan province from a high site. Then, drive to the hotel.

Day 2: NAN

After breakfast,

06:30            An early start and a wonderful chance to make merit with the monks. Thai Buddhists believe that by making merit, they earn happiness, peace in life, and the chance to progress in their next life, while this sacred experience creates a harmonious way to start the day for all.

Return to the hotel for breakfast.

08:00               Depart Nan city to Wat Nong Bua – an ancient temple built by Thai Lue who migrated from Sib Song Pan Na Province in South China and famous for its mural paintings which reflect the social status of people in that time especially

in aspect of ordinary people. The temple also has the reproduction of a Thai Lue ancient home where inside displays Thai Lue appliances in daily living. Afterwards, drive to Nong Bua Thai Lue Village which is skillful in the beautiful local fabric hand weaving, called Nam Lai design, for generations.

                        Afterwards, drive to Doi Phuk Ka National Park considered one of the primeval forest in Thailand to admire a scenic viewpoint at “Lan Do Dao” (Stargazing Field) and see the famous living fossil Phu Kha tree, extremely rare with unusual flowers growing upwards that bloom only in February.

Continue a scenic drive passing meandering trails to Bo Klua district with a stop for lunch at a local restaurant en route.

After lunch, proceed to Bo Klua district which has been an important salt production venue from ancient times. Nan has been a large exporting source of rock salt in the north. It is fascinating to watch an activity that is still done exactly the same way for a hundred years. The traditional salt mines in mountains so far above sea level and methods of producing salt will amaze you. Then, return to nan boutique hotel

Dinner at a local restaurant along the Nan River.

Day 3: NAN–BANGKOK (OR CROSSING BORDER TO LAOS)

Breakfast

09:00            Check-out and depart to Wat Phrathat Chae Haeng, a sacred place to worship, situated on the eastern side of the Nan River which was the former centre of the Nantown after moving from Pua town. Phra Borommathat Chae Haeng represents the Year of the Rabbit in Lunar Year. Lanna people believe that travelling to pay respect to the Phrathat of their Year of Birth would reap them the great prosperity. Afterwards, transfer to Nan Airport.

12:05            Depart Nan by FD3553 (Air Asia/air ticket is not included).

13:10            Arrive Bangkok Don Muang Airport with transfers to your Bangkok hotel.

Transfer to Huai Kon immigration for crossing the border to Laos.
